Sendscape vs Mailgun

A simpler Mailgun alternative

Sendscape is an email API and SMTP relay for developers who want transactional and marketing email in one account, a free tier of 3,000 emails a month, and no overage bill unless they opt in. Mailgun is an established provider; this page explains what Sendscape offers and how to switch if it suits you better.

Switching from Mailgun

Mailgun’s messages endpoint takes form fields on a per-domain URL. On Sendscape you POST JSON to a single endpoint, /v1/emails, and the from address decides which verified domain sends it. SMTP users only need to change the host and credentials.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change my code to move to Sendscape?

Not if you send over SMTP: point your app at the Sendscape relay on port 587 with STARTTLS and swap the username and password. If you use an HTTP API, the change is one request - POST a JSON body with from, to, subject and html to https://api.sendscape.ai/v1/emails.

Can I keep my sending domain?

Yes. Add the domain in Sendscape and publish the DKIM, SPF and MX records it generates. They sit alongside your existing records, so you can run both providers in parallel while you switch over.

Is there a free plan to test with?

Yes - 3,000 emails a month and 100 a day, free forever, with no credit card required.
